"ACID FLASHBACKS"
Special artifacts from the archives — updated monthly.
In 2003, the Boston Phoenix Newspaper dispatched my friend Getchell and I on a week-long tour of 20 Boston & Cambridge area pubs. We were tasked with making quick ink drawings of each pub on cocktail napkins while downing many pints. The artwork ran as a feature story in the March 17th issue.
The key was to get the drawings done as soon as we arrived at the pub because things got sloppy pretty quickly. Below are a few that didn't get spilled on.
Sadly, only a few of these pubs are still in business.
